A Computer Networking Intern is sought to assist the Advanced Networking Systems team anticipate future needs for network technology, designs solutions to meet those needs, and develops prototypes to validate these solutions. The goal is to satisfy the service requirements of future network users while producing technology that can handle the expected scale of future networks.

This company is seeking qualified interns to support projects involving the design, analysis, simulation, and construction of innovative mobile data networking and computing systems. They may contribute to the implementation and design of new systems, algorithms and protocols for advanced networking systems in areas such as routing, network management, network infrastructure security, energy conservation, disruption tolerance, mobility, and wireless/satellite channel access. They may implement, test, simulate, and analyze the efficacy of new systems, architectures, algorithms, and protocols. Projects will involve diverse technologies and network infrastructures, including wired and wireless networks.

Qualifications for this internship include:

• Degree of study in CS/EE (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in design, simulation and/or analysis, and/or implementation
• Experience with low-level programming and embedded platforms is helpful
• UNIX/Linux C/C++ and/or Java programming helpful
• Experience with kernel development and embedded systems a plus
• Experience with signal processing a plus
• Experience with network simulation tools (NS-2, Opnet) a plus
• Experience with scripting languages (Perl, Python, Bash, etc.) a plus
• Ability to work in either small/large teams desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communications desirable
• Ability to document work using MS Office, Open Office, or Latex tools required
