Job Description:

Accountants within this company are involved with business transactions and part of the decision making process. As a Tax Law Intern, you will be able to interact with a diverse group of business people within accounting, marketing, operations and general counsel. Additionally, you will gain a solid understanding of the company you support. While we believe that a meaningful work experience is the most important part of a successful internship program, we still manage to have fun over the summer months. Over the course of your internship we build in exciting activities designed to make the intern experience a lively and educational one. A few of the activities you will be involved include Market Based Management training, Habitat for Humanity, Intern Socials, Faculty and Family Day, and an end of summer Banquet.

Our positions offer an opportunity to experience:

• Focus on tax planning and transaction work.
• Work with businesses, service providers, and other tax professionals in the planning and structuring of tax implications from business and commercial transactions.
• Optimize transaction strategy from a tax perspective
• Work with businesses and other tax professionals to identify and assess the economic and financial implications of different transactions from tax perspective
• Partner with business leaders to ensure most tax efficient means of accomplishing the desired result
• Generally be available to assist tax planners with various projects

Tax Law Interns will also gains the following tax compliance experience:

• Review and/or prepare tax accounting for monthly/quarterly federal, state, and foreign tax provisions and reconciliation of tax balance sheet accounts.
• Gather and review information needed to prepare federal, state, and foreign draft tax returns.
• Assemble and facilitate storage of documentation for audit purposes.
• Administer federal, state, and foreign income tax audit requests as they occur.
• Generally be available to assist tax analyst with various projects
