Job Description:

The Technical/Network Intern is responsible for ensuring continuity of technology services for this company by providing the technical expertise, assistance, and coordination necessary to administer network and telecommunications operations, install computer software and hardware products, modify and repair hardware and resolve technical issues and oversee third party service support vendors.

Technical/Network Intern will perform the following job duties:

Ensure the continued functioning of the this company’s technology platforms

• Providing maintenance and support of the company’s network, telecommunications, servers, UPS, backup systems, printers and desktop systems.
• Provide LAN configuration and analysis, printer configuration and setup, server management and diagnostics, network administration and management, and front office software and hardware implementation.
• Provide technical support for user hardware and front office operating issues, outages; domain controllers, email services, Windows XP/2003 clients and servers.
• Oversee and direct third party vendor support operations including infrastructure, network and telecommunications services.
• Provide technical assistance and advice to users.

Technical/Network Intern responsibilities will include:

• Identify, diagnose, research and resolve technical environment problems with the company’s network, email and telecommunications.
• Respond accordingly to work requests and operational issues, providing service and support.
• Monitor system operations, documenting issues, system events and solutions to ensure continuous operations.
• Manage the company’s technical assets (hardware and software inventory), maintaining and monitoring the asset inventory.
• Support infrastructure and technical environment upgrades (desktop operating systems, client software deployments, server/network updates)
• Configure and repair hardware as necessary, working closely with service vendors to ensure continuity of service.
• Administer Company’s Network, Intranet, Active Directory & Group Policies and system backups.
• Administer Business Publication and Infrastructure Audits
• Administer IT operating policies and procedures
• Maintain system, network and software documentation
