Job Description:

The Business Development Intern provides college students majoring in financial planning, finance, business or a related area of study the opportunity to fulfill college degree requirements as they learn first-hand about the business development and planning profession in the financial services industry.

Through the program, interns can observe and assist business development planning professionals at work and:

• Deepen their understanding of the financial services industry and the financial planning profession
• Learn how an individual financial planning/financial services business operates
• Discover what knowledge and skills are required for an entry-level financial planner
• Gain an understanding of the administrative and compliance requirements of the profession
• Increase knowledge, enhance skills and develop professional goals
• Complete a special project to gain insight into a specific facet of the industry or business operations

Intern requirements include:

• Excellent writing, research, and communication skills
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student (or recently graduated)
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Internet and e-mail
• Must be proficient in MS Excel
• Should be able to type minimum of 20 words per minute
